Books
To locate books in the HCC Library, use I-Share. Books check out for 3 weeks and can be renewed once; access your I-Share account to renew, stop in or call (309) 268-8292. For information on getting a library card, damaged items, etc., go to Check out Policies.

Videos & DVDs
Videos and DVDs check out for 3 days with a maximum of 3 at a time. You can renew your material by accessing your I-Share account, stopping by or calling (309) 268-8292. Look in I-Share, our catalog, to find what our library owns. Hint: use the Quick Limit to search for 'Films/Videos'.

Magazines & Journals
Print titles are available at the Library and do not check out. Thousands of journals are available through our online subscriptions- available from off campus. Go to Articles to access them or call the Library for information about using them at (309) 268-8293. In addition, we have other useful reference works on our Encyclopedia Etc page. For example, try Noodletools!Your keychain Library card is your password to use our resources from off campus.

Reserves
Faculty often put books, articles, or videos on reserve for their classes. Use I-Share's Course Reserves tab to check what is on reserve; you can find the items at the Library desk. You must have a card to use a Reserve item.

Borrowing
You can request items using your I-Share account from 64 academic libraries across Illinois. This function of your I-Share account will allow you to request, renew and view your fines and fees. A short guide to borrowing online is available or ask a librarian for more help!

Interlibrary Loan
If you want articles, videos, or items not found on I-Share, we can get items from libraries anywhere in the world (the record so far is a book that came from Australia). Fill out the online ILL Form, or the .pdf form and return it to the Library. Remember to allow 7 to 21 days for items to arrive. For more info, look at the ILL Pages.
