Even Start is an educational program serving children and their parents. Even Start combines Early Childhood Education with Adult Basic Education, encouraging the family to learn together. Even Start offers pre-school classes, GED preparation, Computer classes, as well as special sessions on topics such as healthy living, decision-making, craft projects for the family, and more!
Even Start is offered in Pontiac to families living in Livingston County and Northern McLean County. A family is eligible for Even Start if there is at least one child in the family under 8 years old and at least one parent in need of GED preparation or computer classes for job training.
Even Start is offered free of charge. Childcare and lunch are provided. Transportation is also available on a limited basis.
