Why do you love working at Heartland? I love working at Heartland because of its dedication to providing students access to an exceptional education. I love having the opportunity to work with students of all ages and interests and assisting them as they navigate through their educational journey.

Why do you love working at Heartland? I love that Heartland is open to any student and that I have the opportunity to help them be successful. I love that every day I learn something new about Heartland and about how to do my job better.

Why do you love working at Heartland? I love working at Heartland because every day is different. We get to meet all different types of students at different points along their journey. I never know who is going to come into my office or what they might need - I like being able to problem solve and help students find answers to their questions. We get to help students reach their educational goals, no matter what path they choose.

Chad Hoffer

Why do you love working at Heartland? Helping students navigate the college process and guiding them on their path to success is what initially lead me to become an academic advisor. Not only have I been able to do those things at Heartland, but I have also been able to empower and support students in a variety of ways to help them meet their educational and life goals.

Why do you love working at Heartland? I love working with individual students, helping them clarify their life, career, and educational goals, and together creating a plan to achieve them. I love the opportunity to use my Spanish. I love interacting with coworkers who care deeply about students.

Why do you love working at Heartland? I love being a part of the interworking of Heartland. In my heart, I hope that I contribute in whatever way to Heartland Community College achieving its overall goal to serve the needs of students and families in a way that makes a difference in all of their lives.

Linda Tesdal - Site Supervisor, Pontiac Campus

What special populations of students do you work with? Pontiac campus students
What degrees do you have? Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Oregon College of Education (now known as Western Oregon College) and a Master's in Reading Education from Illinois State University. I have also completed additional coursework in career and vocational training in grades K through junior college.
Why do you love working at Heartland? I have worked at Heartland Community College since it opened its doors in July of 1991. I love working with students and celebrating their successes. Every day presents a new set of challenges.

Why do you love working at Heartland? I love working at Heartland because of the incredible variety of opportunities offered to our students. I enjoy working with community college students because of the diversity in their backgrounds and life experiences. They are a joy to work with and I feel like I learn so much from them every day!
