Heartland Harvest 5K Walk-Run

Where:  Heartland Community College Raab Road Campus

When:  Saturday, October 19, 2013

We had nearly 100 runners brave the cold for the Heartland Harvest 5k on campus and we saw a few Heartland employees place in the top three for their division.

Several others from the Heartland community, including alumni, were in the race, as well as spouses, children and friends of HCC employees. Thank you to all who turned out and congratulations on finishing the race!

The event raised nearly $15,000 for our scholarship program and will have a huge impact on creating access for students in our community.

Chilly but fun

Racers braved 40 degree temperatures and a bitter wind but they were cheered on by Heartland mascot, Hunter the Hawk, and other supporters including Heartland President Rob Widmer.  Runners had a great time. Cheryl Kagemann Williams said of the race, "One of the best 5K I have done all year. Not the fastest jogger out there and it was nice all of the clapping at the end by so many!"  She added, "I will do this event again next year, with less wind and cold. :) Thanks for a good jog!"
