Academic Integrity
Goal Statement
The primary goal of this project is to promote and uphold the highest
standards of Academic Integrity at Heartland Community College. Academic
Integrity is, according to the HCC Catalog, "a fundamental principle of
college life at Heartland." It is also intrinsically linked to the HCC
Mission of "excellence in teaching and learning" and more specifically
to the following goals: 1) holding students to high expectations for
learning and growth; 2) preparing students for life beyond the
classroom; and 3) upholding all four of the College's General Education
Learning Outcomes; by teaching students to think critically, to solve
problems, to communicate effectively in both speaking and writing, and
to demonstrate the diversity of outcomes through analyzing issues from
multiple perspectives, and reflecting upon the formation of their own
ideals and values.
