Project RISE, a Student Support Services Program and a component of the federal TRIO program, is designed to assist all eligible Heartland Community College students to improve their GPA, to graduate and to transfer to a four-year college. Project RISE Eligibility:
You may be eligible if you meet one or more of the following guidelines:

  • You are qualified to receive a Pell Grant
  • Neither parent has received a bachelor's degree
  • You have a verifiable disability

Cultural Enrichment :
An array of cultural events, activities and trips are available for the Project RISE students, including visits to four-year college campuses and attendance at HCC sponsored programs.

Student Responsibilities :
Project Rise students are responsible for keeping appointments, attending workshops, turning in paperwork and seeing counselors on a regular basis. This will assist students in achieving the goal of graduating and/or transferring to a four year college.

Program Newsletter :
The program newsletter is produced monthly during the fall and spring semesters.  Each issue provides program information, study tips, and a listing of upcoming activities.  Check it out to read the latest!  (Note:  Acrobat Reader is required to view.)
