Tutor Study Skills Handouts

Successful students develop learning and study strategies that allow them to work more efficiently, and to produce accurate work. While we are providing some basic study skills handouts for you here, it is important to understand that you will gain more from using these handouts if you meet with a tutor to discuss the content of the handouts and how they apply to you as an individual.

Developing good study habits and study skills is not an easy task. It takes commitment on your part to consistently evaluate your current strategies and to formulate plans for improving those strategies. There are no secret formulas or tricks to becoming a successful student. You have to put in the effort to develop a study system that works for you.

The handouts below are just a few of the many handouts available at the Tutoring Center. If you are having trouble with study skills of any kind, or if you have questions about study skills that are not addressed here, stop in and talk to a tutor. They can provide additional handouts, help you recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and help you formulate a plan to develop effective study strategies.
