Greg Mote, Assistant Baseball Coach

Greg Mote begins his first season as an assistant baseball coach at Heartland Community College.

Mote previously was the head coach of the Bloomington Renegades, which is a 9U-14U travel baseball team within the Bloomington-Normal Baseball Association, from 2009-2012.  In the summer of 1999, Mote coached the Bloomington Bobcats summer league team

The Lincoln, Illinois native played college baseball at Illinois State University and was a four-year starter at middle infield. As a sophomore at ISU, Mote set the squad’s single season record for doubles with 22, was a second team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, an All-Midwest Second Team pick, and made the Missouri Valley Conference All-Tournament Honorable Mention team as the Redbirds captured the 1994 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship. Prior to Mote’s senior season in 1996, he was named a Pre-Season Player to Watch, and he graduated from ISU with a .300 batting average, finished third in career walks, and had a school record in doubles with 56.

Mote graduated from Illinois State in the Spring of 1996 with his bachelor’s degree in industrial technology – construction management.

Mote is the owner of the Hit 6 Baseball Academy in Bloomington, Illinois, and is the owner and creator of Squared Away, which provides elite performance mindset training for thousands of athletes and their parents across the country.

Greg, his wife Bridget, and their children Madeleine, Billy, and Jacob reside in Normal, Illinois.
