IAI Mathematics MATH 131: Explorations in Mathematics

-Completion of MATH 093 OR
-Placement at college level math

This course focuses on mathematical reasoning and the solving of real-life problems, rather than on routine skills and appreciation. Three or four topics are studied in depth, with at least three chosen from the following list: counting techniques and probability, graph theory, logic/set theory, mathematical modeling, mathematics of finance, game theory, linear programming, and statistics. A scientific or graphic calculator are required for this course. 3 credit hours
