MATH 135: Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of MATH 093 or 094 OR
-Placement at college level math
AND
-Completion of MATH 098 with a C OR
-Placement out of Geometry
AND
-Placement at ENGL 099/101 OR
-Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 098

This course focuses on mathematical reasoning and problem solving and provides instruction in the teaching of mathematics at the elementary grade level. Topics include properties of whole numbers and rational numbers, the four basic arithmetic operations, and problem solving through various representations including algebraic. 3 credit hours
