IAI Mathematics MATH 163: Calculus III

-Completion of MATH 162 with a grade of C or higher
-Completion of MATH 098 with a C OR
-Placement out of Geometry
-Placement at ENGL 099/101 or higher OR
-Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 098

Topics include (but are not limited to) the following: applications of polar coordinates: area, arc length and conic sections; functions of more than one variable, partial derivatives; the differential, directional derivatives, gradients; double and triple integrals: evaluation and applications. Note, a graphing calculator is required for this course (instruction will be based on a TI 89). 4 credit hours
