This course provides an introduction to the scientific study of society. Topics include the history of the discipline, culture, groups, organizations, bureaucracies, deviance, power and inequality, race/ethnicity, class, gender, education, the economy, the political institution, family, religion, and social change. Students will develop a critical understanding of social forces. 3 credit hours
