WELD 116: Shielded Metal Arc Welding I

This course is the study of the SMAW welding techniques and procedures. Entry-level ability will be developed in meeting industrial requirements. The course involves welding a variety of metals in the flat and horizontal positions using approved electrodes. It is designed to prepare the student for the AWS welder qualification test for unlimited thickness metals. Safety instruction is included. 3 credit hours
