WELD 217: Shielded Metal Arc Welding II

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of WELD 116 OR
-Permission of division dean or chair

This course is the study of the SMAW welding techniques and procedures. Advanced levels of ability will be developed in meeting industrial requirements. Course involves welding a variety of metals in all positions using approved electrode and design to prepare the student for the AWS welder qualification test for unlimited thickness metals. Safety instructions related to industry practice and standards will be included. 3 credit hours

Career and Technical Course: This course is a specific requirement for an Associate of Applied Science or certificate program and may not transfer. Please consult with your advisor about transferability.
