WELD 217: Shielded Metal Arc Welding II

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of WELD 116
(no literacy placement testing required)

Shielded Metal Arc Welding II covers SMAW welding techniques, procedures, and safety; advanced levels of ability will be developed in meeting industrial requirements. You will continue to prepare for the American Welding Society (AWS) welder qualification test for unlimited thickness metals by learning to weld a variety of metals in all positions using approved electrode and design. 3 credit hours

Career and Technical Course: This course is a specific requirement for an Associate of Applied Science or certificate program and may not transfer. Please consult with your advisor about transferability.
