WELD 218: Gas Metal Arc Welding

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of WELD 116
(no literacy placement testing required)

Gas Metal Arc Welding covers GMAW (also called MIG) welding techniques, procedures, and safety; advanced levels of ability will be developed in meeting industrial requirements. You will learn about FCAW processes using shielded and non-shielded electrode wire. You will continue to prepare for the American Welding Society (AWS) welder qualification test for unlimited thickness metals by learning to weld a variety of metals in all positions using approved electrode wire and design. 3 credit hours
