MAIN 101: Industrial & Building Electricity and Systems

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of TMAT 103 OR
-Placement at MATH 93 or MATH 94 or higher

Industrial and Building Electricity and Systems is a basic course in the operation, characteristics, and applications of industrial electricity and industrial systems. You will learn about function and practice of industrial controls in systems such as fluid power, mechanical, and electrical. Additionally, you will learn the theory and practice of industrial electricity as it relates to industrial systems and other technological fields. 3 credit hours

MAIN 104: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of MATH 091 OR
-Placement at MATH 092 or higher

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration introduces general air conditioning and refrigeration principles as well as how they are applied in industrial facilities. You will also learn about the operation and maintenance of the individual components and functions of industrial cooling equipment. 3 credit hours

MAIN 202: Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of MATH 091 OR
-Placement at MATH 092 or higher

Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems examines basic fluid power theories and advantages, schematic reading and development, equipment specification and installation, and maintenance and rebuilding of individual components. You will also learn about troubleshooting techniques. 3 credit hours

MAIN 220: Mechatronics

Mechatronics covers electrical and mechanical integration, as well as the repair and installation of advanced automation. You will learn about robotic operations, safety, and maintenance. 3 credit hours

MAIN 221: Heating Systems

Prerequisite(s):
-Completion of MATH 091 OR
-Placement at MATH 092 or higher

Heating Systems is a course in theory, operation, and maintenance of residential and industrial heating systems. You will learn about boilers, forced air furnaces, their operation, disassembly, inspection, and repair. Preventative maintenance procedures and regulations governing maintenance programs are also addressed. 3 credit hours

MAIN 222: Industrial and Building Controllers

Industrial and Building Controllers covers the application and programming of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and building control systems. You will learn about theory and operation of controllers; and ladder logic program development and implementation. 3 credit hours
