SWK 170: Intro to Social Work

Prerequisite(s):
-Placement at college level English OR
-Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 099/101

This course will explore the social welfare system including social problems and policy responses of society. Topics to be explored include the major social problems, political ideology influencing these problems, program and policy initiatives, philosophies of social welfare programs and professional ethics and standards. 3 credit hours
