What Will I Learn?

Turn your passion for sports into a meaningful career. Learn the technical, interpersonal and conceptual skills required to be an effective manager in a variety of sports-related environments. Explore the contributions of sports in various cultural settings, including its effects on the participants, spectators, and society. This broad perspective of sport management will help prepare you for career opportunities in a variety of athletic and sporting environments. Courses in this program include: sport marketing, leisure and recreation, recreational leadership and sociology of sport.

Fast Facts

HCC students in this program have completed internships at local organizations such as the Normal CornBelters, the YMCA/YWCA, the U.S. Cellular Coliseum, and with local Parks and Recreation Departments. If your goal is to move directly into the workforce after graduating from Heartland, earning an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Sport Management is the right path for you.
