3rd - 5th Grade Summer Camps

Registration via Internet closes three days prior to first day of camp. Registration via phone or in person remains open until first day of camp.

  • Work as a team to build re-buildable drones! Create a plan to construct a drone that meets your team’s challenge. Take turns piloting your drone through tasks, then rebuild it for the next round. Meet a licensed drone pilot and discuss ways drones are used today in business and government.

  • Hey Harry Potter fans! Transform from muggle to magic and test your wizarding skills as you design a wand, create potions that bubble, and test your skills at divination, invisibility, and transfiguration. Prepare to pass the O.W.L exams (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) by studying magical creatures (zoology), potions (chemistry), herbology (botany), charms (physics), and astronomy.

  • Are you good at solving problems? Do you like to create unique structures? Perhaps you should consider a career as an engineer! In this design challenge course, you will take an everyday object and work to improve it. Try your hand at developing a perpetual motion machine, designing your own game, and creating a kinetic sculpture.

  • Learn about robotics as you participate in an epic bot vs. bot battle! Work with a team to create your robot and go head to head against the other teams to see which robot wins. After the competition is over, you will have the opportunity to modify your robot to improve its battle performance.

  • Calling all Star Wars and science fans! Learn about force, motion, and acceleration in this action-packed, sci-fi themed camp. Discover how Newton's Laws work on a planet, moon, and in space. Use the force to move, fly, and make objects work. Please pack a lunch. If you have food allergies, bring a snack.

  • Ever want to try something, but worry you'll mess up? Ever built something that didn’t work? Don’t let the fear of failing stop you. In this class, you will be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and try, try again. Explore how various objects function and then work to improve them.   • Set out to explore the vast and mysterious ocean as you learn about the bizarre and unique species of plants and animals found in the water.   • Whether you’re a Marvel fanatic or a DC true blue, super heroes are amazing! Examine the science behind super powers and understand how they break the laws of physics. Create your own superheroes and superhero comics, along with a few superhero gadgets. Make sure to wear your favorite superhero t-shirt for this super camp!

  • What does an alien look like to you? Look at depictions of aliens from books and movies, and then use your imagination to create your very own alien life form that could survive on a planet or moon in our solar system. You will also observe alien specimens and even conduct an alien autopsy! If you have food allergies, please bring a snack.
