Registration via Internet closes three days prior to first day of camp. Registration via phone or in person remains open until first day of camp.

  • Learn what it takes to be a true Martian. Journey to the Red Planet as we make our own space food, use the power of breath to create crater maps, trap a dust storm in a bottle, and more!   • Mix the magic of fiction with the brain of a scientist in this unique camp. We’ll begin by reading a variety of thrilling stories, and then we’ll bring the tall tales to life through hands-on science activities. If you have food allergies, please bring a snack.

  • Join us for an exciting, fast-paced journey around the universe. Examine planets and stars up close as you learn how to use a telescope and make your own version to take home. Explore the man-made objects found in space and build your own satellite. Finally, take a simulated ride through the solar system in the Athena Transport Module.

  • Take cover! It’s going to get wild (and messy) when we drop Mentos into pop. Conduct exciting and unique experiments with some of your favorite sweet treats.   • Engage in hands-on activities with plants and animals as we learn about the potential for life elsewhere in the solar system. Study how different species adapt to space and get a better understanding for the problems they encounter when they’re taken off of our planet.   • Calling all Star Wars and science fans! Learn about force, motion, and acceleration in this action-packed, sci-fi themed camp. Discover how Newton's Laws work on a planet, moon, and in space.   • Ever want to try something, but worry you'll mess up? Ever built something that didn’t work? Don’t let the fear of failing stop you. In this class, you will be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and try, try again. Explore how various objects function and then work to improve them. Put your skills to the test by programming a robot. Successful or not, learn how to look failure in the face while having fun! Please pack a lunch. If you have food allergies, bring a snack.

  • Set out to explore the vast and mysterious ocean as you learn about the bizarre and unique species of plants and animals found in the water.   • A pinch of this, a dash of that, and wow! You can mix up some pretty amazing things with science. Use chemistry principles to change colors, tickle your tongue, and even explode with hands-on science projects, games, and crafts each day. Uncover the secrets of atoms, molecules, acids, and bases, and see if chemistry works the same in space as it does on Earth.

  • Get your gears turning in a fun, hands-on introduction to the principles of robotics. Discover how robots work and complete challenges in logical sequencing, robotic manipulation, laying out a program, and more. Finally, try your hand at beginner coding as you challenge another teammate to a bot vs. bot competition!

  • Ever wish you could deliver the forecast on TV? Get your future in forecasting started as you learn about the atmosphere and the water cycle and how they impact our weather. Create your own weather with hands-on experiments and look at the satellites that help us follow local and global weather patterns. Study and chart local weather in preparation to give your very own forecast. “And now, let’s go live to our CLC meteorologist for a look at today’s weather.”

  • Phineas and Ferb aren’t the only ones who can invent cool things that make summer vacation fun. Come to the Challenger Learning Center to discover a world of engineering as we marvel at some of the greatest accomplishments of all time. The adventure begins when you head to the drawing board to plan and build your very own creation from common household items. It's going to be one of the best 104 days of summer vacation!

  • You’ve heard of a biologist, chemist, and physicist, but how about a toyologist? Enroll in this exciting day camp where you will be studying—that’s right—toys! Play with toys here on Earth, then watch how they behave differently in space. After the investigation, you will use your engineering skills and imagination to invent or modify a toy, game, or sport in space.
