Parent & Child (Ages 3-10) Battle of the Bots

Team up with your child and prepare for an epic robot battle! Work together to create your own robot and then go head to head against other teams in a bot-to-bot competition. If you lose? You'll have an opportunity to modify your battlebot to improve its performance for an assured future victory. Each parent and child must register for the class.

Fly Your Sweetie to the Moon

Have a romantic Valentine's Day with a candlelight dinner and a trip to the moon with the one you love. This magical evening begins with a candlelight Italian dinner of lasagna (meat or vegetarian), salad and freshly baked bread. Next, join the Challenger Learning Center staff as we fly 14 adult couples to the moon for a simulated space mission. Cake and punch are provided half way through the mission when we take a break and reflect upon the developments that have taken place so far. Upon completion of the mission, each couple is provided with a photo, flowers and chocolates. Each participant must register.

Case of the Missing Person (Grades 2-6)

Break out the magnifying glass, detective, because it's time to solve a crime. A very important person has gone missing, and it's your job to find them! Search for clues, interview witnesses and suspects, collect and handle evidence, crack secret codes, and conduct covert surveillance. Will you be the one to solve the Case of the Missing Person? Pack a lunch. If you have food allergies, bring snacks as well.

Join us for a continuation of last year's Science & and Story event. We'll read NEW beloved space and science tales and then complete hands-on science and engineering activities connected to the stories. A parent or guardian must attend with child. Each parent and child must register for the class.

Night at the Space Station Sleepover (Girls)
Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, 2019/6:30pm-8:30am

Grab your girlfriends for an overnight of space exploration and discovery. Eat pizza, learn about the wonders of the solar system, and then blast off on a mission to space. Enjoy a movie and popcorn before lights out. Spend the morning playing fun space games before it's time to return home to Earth. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

Mars Madness (Grades 2-6)

3...2...1...lift-off! The Challenger Learning Center astronauts are on their way to Mars! Join us for a two-day adventure to this exciting destination. Begin your training learning about the rockets that will launch us to the Red planet. Then, determine the best site for us to land and explore our new environment. Once we land we will work with other crew members to build a Mars base so you can live in this exotic place. This program is open to students in grades 2-6. Bring a lunch and if you have food allergies, please bring snacks as well.

Return to the Moon Community Engagement Day
Saturday, April 6, 2019/9am-12pm

Take to the moon during this exploratory community event. Learn more about Earth’s closest neighbor and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing. Move through multiple stations with hands-on and digital activities as you mine for minerals or build a lunar base. Use a 3D pen, program a robot, and lift-off in the Athena Transport Module. This is a free, open-house event for all ages. Register in advance to avoid the sign-up line at the door.

Homeschool Day (Ages 6-13)

Challenger Learning Center @ HCC

Homeschoolers - step into the simulator and turn into a scientist or astronaut for the day. Older students will participate in hands-on STEM activities and fly a space mission while younger students explore the Discovery Lab and travel the solar system. An Avanti's sack lunch is included.

Comet-dy Fun Night & Mission

Who knew you could mix science with comedy? Laugh your way across the galaxy with the Challenger Learning Center crew as your team of cadets launches a mission in space to rendezvous with a comet. This is an engaging, hands-on space simulation with some wacky twists. This mission is intended for adults only.

Parent & Child (Ages 5-10) Space Day

Join the Challenger Learning Center for a Space-tacular adventure as we explore all things outer space. Learn about rockets, our Solar System and beyond through fun hands-on activities! First, we take a journey through the Solar System and learn about the nine, correction, eight planets and NASA missions. For our grand finale investigate the principles of rocketry and launch your own rockets. This program is open to students ages 5-10. Parents, or guardian must attend with child(ren). Each parent and child must register for the class. Costs for each parent/child pair includes supplies and one rocket.
