Career Training

These professional education programs are designed to prepare you for employment in specialized careers. These courses may require additional time commitments outside of class. Students who successfully complete course and experiential requirements should have the skills to pursue employment opportunities in their chosen field. We encourage you to research employment opportunities prior to registration.

We offer a monthly payment plan for students who would like to budget their fees over a period up to 12 months. For details on this program, see our FACTS Information page.

Certification Sequence

Students who successfully complete all three courses in the Certification Sequence and the Travel Agent Proficiency Exam, which is administered on campus, will earn a Travel and Tourism Professional Certificate from Heartland Community College.

Professional Development Courses

Aspiring and experienced travel professionals may be interested in these specialized courses for professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Truck Driver Training Program

  • 160 hours of instruction in preparation for the Class A commercial driver's license exam
  • Job placement assistance
  • No previous experience is required
  • Daytime and evening classes available
  • Affordable tuition
  • Classes begin monthly
  • Refresher classes are also available
