Heartland Community College is conducting operations in accordance with the Illinois Office of the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan.
At each phase of this plan, the College has developed rules and procedures to protect the health of individuals and the community. We are currently in Phase 3.
Employees, students, or visitors must adhere to the College Standard of Care if they are invited to campus facilities during Phase 3.
Summer 2020 Classes
Summer classes will be held via online instruction.
If a Summer class has been canceled due to the transition to online-only instruction, students will need to re-register for the class. Students should check their IRIS account to see which classes have been dropped and no longer appears on the schedule. Assistance is available for re-registration through Raab.Advisors@heartland.edu.
Fall 2020 Schedule Changes
Heartland is taking a blended approach to Fall 2020 with classes conducted online unless they have a hands-on component.
All classes with a clinical or hands-on component will take place on campus in a classroom/lab setting with a limit of no more than 10 people per meeting, employing health safety practices.
At this time, schedules are still being finalized. We ask for your patience as we work to have schedules and classes finalized by June 1st, 2020.

Support services such as academic advising, success coaching, mental health counseling, tutoring, the library and others are available virtually. Campus facilities will not be available for walk-in services. Any on-campus services will be conducted by appointment.
Adult Education programs (High School Equivalency/GED and English as a Second Language) are being held online.
Continuing Education programs will not be held in-person this Spring. Visit the Continuing Education page for the status of classes including personal enrichment, professional development, workforce training, Truck Driver Training, Traffic Safety School and others.
The Child Development Lab is closed until further notice.
