Grant Reimbursement for Employee Training
We recognize that the costs of keeping your employees’ skills up-to-date can add up, however it is important to provide training to improve the efficiency and productivity of your operations. In an effort to assist our customers, we apply annually for the Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) grant funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The ETIP grant provides eligible businesses in Illinois reimbursement for up to 50% of approved training costs. In order to qualify for reimbursement, training projects must be customer-driven and companies must demonstrate that the new skills are directly related to work performance.
Companies may be eligible if they are:
- expanding the business enterprise in Illinois
- expanding into new markets
- introducing more efficient technologies/continuous improvement systems into their operations which will result in greater output per employee
- training full-time Illinois employees (part-time, temporary or seasonal workers are not eligible) expanding exports from Illinois
- providing additional training to employees who will be threatened with layoff
