Mission:

The Mathematics- Science Division helps to fulfill the College's philosophy, mission, and goals by providing courses that are appropriate to students' personal, academic, career, and developmental interests and needs.

Courses in the various disciplines within the division, in addition to providing knowledge specific to the individual disciplines, have the general goal of promoting habits of thought and reflection that are characteristic of a well educated person. These include the ability to discern meaning and solve problems through careful observation and analysis; to think logically and systematically; to form reasoned, thoughtful, and enlightened judgments; and to comprehend and communicate information in a variety of forms.
