  • As a future educator you'll want to join TEACH-HCC's student education organization. Unique service learning opportunities are also available and include helping local children with disabilities as they perform in theatre productions through the Penguin Project.

  • The job outlook for teachers and paraprofessionals ranges from good to excellent over the next several years. Opportunities vary depending on the grade level being taught, the area of specialization, and region in which you live. Some areas of strong demand include special education, math, science, and bilingual education. Paraprofessionals will be in high demand in classrooms with students who have disabilities.

    Associate in Arts - Concentration in Elementary Education

    The Associate of Arts (AA) Degree with Emphasis in Elementary Education option is ideal if you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree and teach in a public or private school setting.

    Associate in Arts - Concentration in Secondary Education
    Associate in Science - Concentration in Secondary Education

    The Associate of Arts (AA) / Associate of Science (AS) Degree with Emphasis in Secondary Education option is ideal if you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree and teach in a public or private school setting.

    Associate in Arts - Concentration in Special Education

    The Associate of Arts (AA) Degree with Emphasis in Special Education option is ideal if you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree and teach in a public or private school setting.
