Adult Learners

The average student age at Heartland Community College is 25 and HCC understands that adult learners may be juggling additional responsibilities, such as work and family. HCC offers unique programs, resources and services to help you succeed inside and outside of the classroom. Adult Transition Services offers adult students assistance with preparing for the Basic Skills Assessment, as well as individual support, and referrals to additional on-campus and off-campus resources, like the Student Veterans Center, Disability Support Services, and the Child Development Lab. Adult students also benefit from small class sizes which provide one-on-one attention, academic and career planning services, and free tutoring. Affordable tuition and fees, convenient campus locations, and varied class day and time choices allow you to create a schedule that works around your life.
