Get Ready to SOAR at Heartland

Each full-time student will need to participate in a half-day SOAR session in order to enroll in classes. The SOAR program is intended to help you succeed at Heartland.

New Full-Time Students
(enrolling in 4 or more classes; 12 or more credit hours)

To get started at Heartland, you must complete the enrollment process:

To start:

• Submit HCC application.
• Request high school and previous college official transcripts.
• Secure funding for college.

Next step:

• Reserve your seat in a SOAR session that includes:
  • New student orientation
  • Basic skills assessment
  • Academic advising
  • Schedule building
  • Enrollment into classes (Be sure to know important deadlines, including the last day for open enrollment.)
  • Student ID card photos

Please note:  Registration for spring SOAR sessions begins on October 1st, 2008.  Registration for fall SOAR sessions begins on April 1st, 2009.

Last, but not least:

• Pay tuition/fees by the deadline.
• Activate your refund preference after you have received your Heartland OneCard.
