Your FAFSA form should be submitted by the date for the respective semester as listed below.
| Semester | Deadline |
|---|---|
| Fall Semester | April 1 |
| Spring Semester Only | October 1 |
Weekly FAFSA workshops are available for assisting students, potential students and parents in completing the on-line FAFSA application.
Call (309) 268-8020 for times.
Apply as early as possible! It's important to apply by the preferential filing dates to be considered for all aid types and ensure your financial aid eligibility is determined before the start of each semester. Note that the major state grant program may require that you file earlier than the dates outlined due to limited funding.
You can apply for FAFSA online:
Heartland will receive the results of your FAFSA from the U.S. Department of Education if you listed Heartland as a school choice when you completed the FAFSA. The Financial Aid Office will communicate with you, through your Heartland e-mail, if additional information is needed, and will email an award notice, indicating the programs you qualify to receive. Results vary depending upon your financial status.
