Welcome to the Humanities and Fine Arts Division at Heartland Community College. The Humanities and Fine Arts Division offers courses in eleven curriculum areas. Feel free to browse around, and contact us if you have any questions.
To meet requirements for the General Education Core Curriculum for an associate's degree or for transfer to a four-year college or university, check out courses in Art, Communication, English, Film, Humanities, Music, Philosophy, Photography, Religion, or Theatre.
If you have a good idea of what you would like to major in at a four-year college or university, these areas have courses which you can take as introduction to a variety of fields and in preparation for transfer.
If you are not sure of your path in college, take a course in several areas, and consider a focused area such as Women's Studies to lead you to new educational experiences.
Knowledge of a second language is of growing importance. Consider courses in Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish.
Again, if you have any questions, let us know.
Sincerely,
Tom Clemens
Associate Dean of Humanities & Fine Arts
