Note 1:

You must communicate with your Dean, so you have a course in Blackboard before training. You can't learn Blackboard without a course shell. Training for the Hybrid and Online levels must be approved by your Dean.

Note: 2:

For a Blackboard course to be created these things must be done:

  1. You are assigned to teach the course in PeopleSoft (and the section exists in PeopleSoft).
  2. You have told your Dean that you want to use Blackboard to teach the section.
  3. The Division Secretary enters the BB request into Peoplesoft.
  4. One person has been identified as the content owner of the course in PeopleSoft (i.e. essentially that you are the one who is creating the course content).
  5. An empty Blackboard shell will be created within 24 hours.

Note 3:

Faculty new to training will have to complete two weeks of a course by November 23rd to be reviewed before certification can be granted.

Note 4:

Blackboard certified faculty may pop into any session they wish for additional support.
