Tips on Raising the Money
- Pay for it yourself
- Save. Start a special savings account. Ask for money for holidays, birthdays, etc. Let others know your plans.
- Use financial aid. If you qualify for financial aid, your award can be applied toward your study abroad experience. Each student's situation is different so meet with financial aid to determine what is available to you.
- Apply for Scholarship or loans Loans take 2-3 months to arrange, but payment is not due immediately. Scholarships can be found in unusual places. Ask the Heartland Financial Aid office for information.
- Seek a personal loan. Solid credit history co-signer, and collateral are often necessary.
