Heartland Community College understands that access to resources is vital to education. Through Heartland Library, patrons can go beyond the walls for the resources they need.
How can I get items from other libraries?
Students and employees with a current Heartland Library card can request materials online through I-Share and WorldCat for delivery to Heartland Library or on-site at any I-Share library. Please be aware of some of the quirks of using interlibrary loan.
Note: Interlibrary Loan is available only to current students and employees.
Online requesting:
I-Share
Search the collection of academic libraries across Illinois and request items to be sent to Heartland Library for you. Students will be notified via their myHeartland email account when requested items arrive. Staff requested material will be delivered to their campus mailbox. Allow 3-5 business days for delivery. Renewal requests can be made online through MyAccount.
WorldCat
Use WorldCat when you need a magazine article or can't find your item in I-Share. Students will be notified via their myHeartland email account when requested items arrive. Material requested by staff will be delivered to their campus mailboxes. Delivery times vary. Renewals must be requested through the Interlibrary Loan Department or by calling (309) 268-8274.
On-site borrowing:

Current Heartland Library cards can be used to check out material on-site at any I-Share library, including Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Illinois Central College, University of Illinois, and many others.
Local Public Libraries:
Heartland Library cards are not accepted at local public libraries, including the Bloomington and Normal public libraries.
