Scoring FORE Scholarships Raises $48K
Caterpillar Fuel Systems and the Heartland Community College Foundation raised a record $48,000 dollars for student scholarships at their sixth annual Scoring FORE Scholarships Golf Outing June 7 at the Elks Lodge & Golf Club.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the growing success of this wonderful partnership,” said Dr. Allen Goben, president of Heartland Community College. “Everyone had a great time and we want to thank Caterpillar Fuel Systems for supporting student success.”
The annual outing supports scholarships for Livingston County students whose studies focus on business and industry. This year’s golf outing will allow Caterpillar Fuel Systems to provide full-ride scholarships for five Heartland students from Livingston County.
“Caterpillar was honored to sponsor the sixth annual Scoring FORE Scholarships golf outing, said Jeff Moore, operations manager for Caterpillar Fuel Systems and Heartland Foundation Board member. “This event has been a tremendous success and continues to provide scholarships for deserving Livingston County students who wish to attend Heartland Community College. Since 2006, 45 scholarships have been awarded. Without the support of our customers, suppliers, community and volunteers, this would not have been possible. We are proud of the dedication these students have put forth in realizing their goal to attain a higher education.”
“We're always excited about this wonderful event for the Heartland Foundation,” said Scott Dixon, chair of Heartland's Foundation Board. "Caterpillar is an exceptional community partner, and the relationship we have makes Scoring FORE Scholarships an event that people look forward to year after year as we guide Heartland students to successful futures in the Pontiac community and beyond."
