Citing his intent to move out of Community College District 540, Heartland Community College board member Terry Baggett has resigned from the board effective immediately. The Heartland Community College Board of Trustees will appoint a person to fill that vacancy until a successor is elected at the next regular election for board members in April 2015.
The HCC board will accept letters of interest from individuals through the month of January. The letter of interest should include a brief biography, strengths of the applicant, and a statement detailing the interest in and commitment to serving on a community college board.
Any United States citizen age 18 or older who has lived in Heartland Community College District 540 for at least one year is eligible to be a trustee. The district covers parts of DeWitt, Ford, Livingston, Logan, McLean and Tazewell counties.
Letters of interest may be addressed to Laura Mai, board secretary, Heartland Community College, 1500 W. Raab Rd., Normal, IL 61761, or may be dropped off in the executive office, located on the second floor of the Community Commons Building. All materials must be received by 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 for consideration.
