Food, Music and a Zip Line; Time for Fall Fest

Get ready for the upcoming school year at Fall Fest on Wednesday August 20 and Thursday August 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the café patio.

Brought to you by HCC’s Student Engagement Office, Fall Fest is your chance to see what Heartland has to offer. Various College departments, clubs, organizations and external vendors will be onsite to showcase their services.

“Fall Fest is an opportunity for students to see a wide range of services and programs that are available to them in one place,” said Marvin Rasch, Director of Student Engagement. “Plus, it’s just a lot of fun.”

Rasch also mentioned Fall Fest is a great way to get engaged in your college career. “Research shows us students who are connected to the campus outside of the classroom are more likely to succeed. When students start the semester, we want to get them involved in campus life.” Specifically, the Educational Benchmark Study found that higher levels of student engagement are associated with high grade point averages, better attendance rates, fewer dropped classes and higher graduation rates.

Fall Fest is free and includes food, live music, a zip line and more.
