Unlock Account
After typing in an incorrect password six times, the system will lock your account. This is done as a security measure to prevent people from trying to guess other users’ passwords. If your account is locked, you may unlock it in Password Station. In order to unlock your account in Password Station follow the steps below.
-
Enter your Login Name in the text field at the left and click the I Agree button.
(Note: Your Login Name is the first part of your e-mail address. It is comprised of your first initial, part of your last name and possibly a number up to eight characters. For example, Tom Williams might have the Login Name TWILLIA19.)
-
Click on the Unlock Account button.
-
Enter the answer to your first security question in the Answer 1 text field, and click the Continue button.
(Note: The actual question displayed may vary from the example and you will only be asked to answer your security questions if you have not already answered them in the Create / Reset Password function of Password Station.)
-
Repeat step 3 for Question 2 and Question 3.
-
Click the Continue button next to the confirmation notification to return to the main window of Password Station. Your account has been unlocked.
-
Choose the Sign Out button in the top right portion of the screen.
-
Click the Close the window and leave Password Station link to exit Password Station.
(Note: Apart from the portal login browser window, as long as the Password Station browser window was the only other window open, you should now see the myHeartland login page https://my.heartland.edu once more.)
