NAMI On Campus
NAMI on Campus is an HCC student-led club that tackle mental health issues on campus by raising mental health awareness, educating the campus community, supporting students, promoting services and supports and advocating. This club is open to all HCC students, whether they live with a mental health condition, are a family member or friend or have an interest in mental health. NAMI on Campus aims to address the mental health needs of all students so they have positive, successful and fun college experiences.
Misson Statement:We are a Heartland Community College (HCC) On-Campus Club in association with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), through HCC Counseling Services. Our mission is to inspire lives through accessible and personalized student support, exemplary innovation, and high expectations for success in teaching and learning .While collaborating with the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, which is dedicated to building better lives for the millions affected by mental illness. Also to provide health promotion and lead the way to outreach services that augment HCC students’ path to success by strengthening their capacity for personal growth that will assist them to persist in accomplishing their academic and life goals.
Vision Statement: To educate Heartland Community College students on Mental Health, while raising awareness on Mental Illnesses as a whole.
