Students taking Technology courses will be introduced to the basics of construction blueprint reading, industrial blueprint reading and standard drafting practices. Other courses include Special Topics in Technology, as well as Independent Studies or Internships.
While Technology courses are essential to certain programs of study, this course area is not a career major at Heartland Community College. The TECH courses may be incorporated into certain technical degrees and certificates offered at the college.
Students may enroll in individual courses, however, the Technology courses are part of a variety of certificate and AAS degree programs in Computer Aided Design, Computer Networking, Information Technology (Computer Science), Electronics, Maintenance Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Renewable Energy & Environmental Controls and Welding.
