What Will I Learn?

Students taking Technical Physics will be introduced to applied physics concepts as typically found in technical subjects. Topics include statics, motion, Newton's Laws, forces, simple machines, properties of materials, thermodynamics, and electricity.

Technical Physics is the first course in technical physics. Topics include statics, motion, Newton’s Laws, forces, simple machines, properties of materials, thermodynamics, and electricity.

What Is The Occupational Outlook?

While technical physics is essential to many technical courses and programs of study, this course area is not a career major at Heartland Community College. The TPHY course may be incorporated into many of the technical degrees and certificates offered at the college.

What Are My Options?

Students may enroll in individual courses, however, the Technical Physics courses are part of a variety of certificate and AAS degree programs in Computer Aided Design, Electronics and Maintenance Technology.
