  • These classes will help you prepare for a high school equivalency exam, but also help you to get a new or better job or get ready for college.

    Great news!! 

    On June 24, 2022 "Governor JB Pritzker signed SB3792 into law, amending the code of multiple acts and agencies to replace references to high school equivalency certificates to State of Illinois High School Diplomas. This change recognizes the equal value of the State of Illinois High School Diploma and will aid Illinois graduates in establishing reciprocity with educational requirements in other states".

    This law will go into effect on January 1, 2023.

    On-campus and online classes are available. The classes are usually held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Generally, Morning classes begin at 9 AM and run until 12:30 PM. Evening classes begin at 5 PM and run until 9 PM. 

  • If you are 16 to 24 years old, this program is the opportunity to earn your High School Equivalency while working on college and work readiness. Complete and Connect Program works in partnership with Career Link, a non-profit organization that connects individuals with employment opportunities through training and services. Heartland provides the classroom aspect through four in-person levels while Career Link provides the employement opportunities.

  • Whether you just want to learn basic English or to take advanced English language courses that help you transition into academic courses, this program could be a great start for you. The five levels offered in this program will put you on the right path in your English learning journey. 

    Class times usually run from 9 AM to 12 PM in the morning and 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the evening. We meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

  • If you would like to continue with your English language learning journey with the desire to take college credit classes, AELP is the program for you. This program gives you the skills to move forward into college classes.

    Depending on the level, the time and day will differ. On-campus and online classes are available. Classes typically begin between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM in the morning and from 5 PM to 9 PM in the evening.

  • Exciting things are happening within Adult Education just for you!

    Now, you can attend credit classes while finishing your GED or AELP program! We are offering different pathways that you may be interested on, such as Digital Media, Business Technology, Health Work Ready, Information Technology, Industrial Technology and more!
