Degree Options at Heartland

Our catalog is packed with essential information including full descriptions of our programs and courses. 

  • The Associate in Arts degree completes the first half of a Bachelor's degree, including general education classes and major requirements.

  • The Associate in Science degree completes the first half of a Bachelor's degree, including general education classes and major requirements.
  • The Associate in Engineering Science degree completes the first half of a Bachelor's degree in an engineering major, including general education classes and major requirements. Student complete core courses in math, chemistry, and physics that are required in most engineering curricula.
  • An Associate in Applied Science degree prepares students to enter the workforce directly in a specific field. Some AAS programs can transfer into Bachelor's degrees at a university, but not all are meant for that. Students should consult with an academic advisor regarding transfer possibilities with an AAS degree.
  • Certificates at Heartland prepare students for entry-level jobs or can add a skill set for a job they already possess. Many certificates can be stacked into an Associate in Applied Science degree.
