Transfer Preparation

The Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), and Associate in Engineering Science (AES) degrees represent the first two years of study for a Bachelor’s degree. The third and fourth years of study are completed at a four-year college or university.

Requirements for a Transferable Associate's Degree

  • Communications
  • Humanities and Fine Arts
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Life and Physical Sciences
  • Math
  • Elective Credit

The AA, AS, and AES have different graduation requirements. Please work with an academic advisor for more detailed information on Associate's degree curriculum.

Be sure to stay informed about requirements and recommendations for your major and transfer insitution. Each institution will have different entrance requirements and deadlines, so consult with representatives of the college or university before completing the transfer degree program at HCC.

A useful tool for students to use are articulation guides, published by each school. These guides will inform you on how courses offered at Heartland articulate to courses offered at your intended transfer institution.
