College NOW Campus Students

High school and homeschool students can take courses on-campus/online, regardless of whether we partner with your high school.

  • Heartland Application

If you have already successfully completed a Heartland application in the past, you do NOT need to reapply. Your Heartland account will remain active until you graduate from high school.

Apply now and choose the following options on the application:

    • Take one or more classes (you must select this option for the choices below to appear)
    • I would like to earn HCC credit while I am still in high school.
    • By choosing from the HCC course catalog on my own and working with a Heartland Academic Advisor.
    • Select the correct start term for the HCC courses you intend to take at HCC or online.
Attention: If you experience difficulty setting up or accessing your HCC student account, please contact HCC IT for assistance: helpdesk@heartland.edu | 309-268-8380.
  • Check the prerequisites/eligibility requirements

When selecting a course from our online course schedule, take note of the literacy and/or math prerequisites for the course, listed immediately after the full course description. Courses with a math prerequisite (including many science courses) will give an equivalent math placement in order to enroll in the course.

    • An explanation of Online & Hybrid courses can be found here

See if you already have eligible scores

If you have PSAT/SAT/ACT scores, check to see if they meet the placement requirements to waive placement testing.

    • If you have eligible test scores, follow the Instructions for College Now on the above linked page to submit your official score report. We cannot accept screen shots.
    • Please note that some math courses allow only ACT/SAT scores (not PSAT scores) to waive placement testing.
    • Most college level math courses also include a geometry requirement, which can be met by either:
      • Having your high school counselor submit a high school transcript showing successful completion of geometry with a C or better OR
      • Scheduling to take a paper/pencil geometry test through the Heartland Testing Center. (See next section)
    • For some higher level math courses, other test scores (PSAT/ACT/SAT) cannot be used to waive the required Accuplacer® placement tests, and an additional Trigonometry test may be required (for example, MATH 161: Calculus I).

If you have already taken the Accuplacer® placement test, check this chart to find your equivalent math placement level.

If you determine you need placement testing, proceed to the next section. If you already meet eligibility requirements, skip ahead to the Enrollment Request section!

If you have further questions regarding placement requirements, please contact the Testing Center at testing@heartland.edu or call 309-268-8077.
