With three options for the community to participate in, the Heartland Haunted Harvest has something for everyone. Sign up to tackle the course as an individual or there are two new options for 2023 - a Team 5K and a 1-mile Kids Fun Run!

Stick around after the race to take part in an after-race party on-campus where food, music, and refreshments will be available for an afternoon of family fun with the Heartland Hawks.

Participants in the 5K race/walk will receive:

• Chip timing

In this team race, triumph will be measured by the collective strength and placement of your team members. To determine the winners, each team must have a minimum of three members. The final score will be calculated by totaling the placements of the best three team members within their age and gender group.

Remember, in this wicked game, low scores herald victory. So having swift souls in both the youthful and seasoned age groups will significantly contribute to your team's success. And in the event of a hair-raising tie, fear not, for the fastest overall runner from each team will break the deadlock, propelling their team to victory.

But that's not all! A coveted traveling trophy, pulsating with otherworldly energy, awaits the Heartland Community College department that boasts the highest number of participants. It's time to rally your colleagues, summon those hidden competitors, and claim this prestigious prize!

Step into the terrifyingly thrilling Heartland Haunted Harvest Fun Run, where the spirit of Halloween sends shivers down your spine and raises funds for the esteemed Heartland Community College. This spine-tingling event promises to make your heart race faster than the zombies chasing after you!

But fear not, little goblins and witches under the age of 10! Wear your most enchanting Halloween costumes and prepare to embark on an eerie 1-mile race, starting at the stroke of 12:05 on October 29th.

As a token of our appreciation, all participants will be bestowed with a treasure trove of treats in their very own goodie bag. What better way to kick off your Halloween week than with a bag brimming with delicious surprises?

NO DOGS ALLOWED. Upon accepting my application and in consideration of allowing me to enter this event, which I agree is at my own risk and entirely of my own free will I hereby for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, waive, release, and discharge Heartland Community College, Heartland Community College Foundation, Normal CornBelters Baseball LLC and Corn Crib Associates LLC, race organizers, race volunteers, sponsors, and promoters from any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any losses, injury, or other damage sustained in any activities during or surrounding the event.

Race packets will be available for pick-up before the day of the race on Friday, October 27 from 4-6 p.m. in the Fitness and Recreation Center gymnasium.

On the day of the race, packets will be available for pickup from 10:30-11:45 a.m. also in the Fitness and Recreation Center gymnasium.

Race shirts are only guaranteed to participants registered by October 1.
