External Scholarships

Many organizations outside of Heartland offer additional scholarship opportunities. The availability of these scholarships is subject to change. HCC does not endorse or sponsor these external scholarships.

  • Garage Gym Planner's Scholarship
    Garage Gym Planner is awarding one scholarship of $3000.
    Deadline Date: August 20

  • Best Reviews Hunt Internet Marketing Scholarship
    If you are studying in the areas of Marketing, Business, Information Technology, Programming or Communications, you could receive a $1000 scholarship. You do not need any expertise in this area, simply a passion for creating internet marketing content.
    Deadline Date: September 30, January 15, March 3

  • The Bike Challenge Scholarship
    Aurumania is providing a $1000 scholarship if you are enrolled in courses related to engineering, medicine, nursing, applied sciences and arts.
    Deadline Date: November 30

  • Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship
    Parenting created the Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship to prevent cyberbullying. This $1000 scholarship is for high school,undergraduate and graduate students and students planning to enter college.
    Deadline Date: February 28, annually

  • Illinois Sheriffs' Association College Scholarship
    One $500 scholarship will be awarded by McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage.
    Deadline Date: March 15, annually

  • Outdoor Stack Scholarship
    Awarding a $500 scholarship to one student passionate about outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, cycling, water sports or winter sports.
    Deadline Date: March 30

  • Streator Onized Credit Union
    Five scholarships will be awarded to recipeients in the amount of $500.00 each and three scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $250.00 each. 
    Deadline Date: April 1, annually

  • Point Foundation Scholarship
    Point Foundation empowers promising lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential. Recipients will receive up to a $3,700 tuition scholarship and access to a variety of support, education, and community resources dedicated to seeing LGBTQ students succeed.

  • AAA Paver Sealing Student Scholarship
    Awarding one $1,000 scholarship
    Deadline Date: May 15, annually

  • Technical Generation Scholarship
    Assisting selected students to become leaders in their field of interest by awarding $2,000 to scholarship winners.  Deadline Date: May 17

  • Student Award Search Aid Scholarship
    Available to all high school junior and seniors as well as students currently registered in any post secondary education.  One $1,000 scholarship awarded.
    Deadline Date: May 22

  • First Art Gallery Scholarship
    wanting to enable Art and Liberal Arts students to further their education, First Art Gallery is offering one $1,000 scholarship.
    Deadline Date: May 31

  • SurveysSay Yearly Marketing Scholarship
    awardng a $1,000 scholarship to students with a major or minor in Marketing, Business, Economics, IT, Communication, or Advertising.
    Deadline Date: May 31

  • Reservation Counter Scholarship
    Needs-based scholarship program is designed to reward students who have a passion for travel and for giving back to their communities, winner receives a $1,500 scholarship. 
    Deadline Date: May 31, November 1, biannually

  • Margaret Esposito Scholarship
    Assisting McLean County residents who are nontraditional students by awarding scholarships that can be used for educational expenses. Applications are located in the HCC financial aid office.
    Deadline Date: June 15, October 15, March 15, triannually


  • Goedeker's College Scholarship
    Goedeker's believes in your potential and would love to see you flourish. They offer a $500 grand prize scholarship and two $100 honorable mention scholarships to be used towards college textbooks.  Also, check out their Annual Publicc Service College Book Scholarship.
    Deadline Date: July 8, annually

  • Straight North STEM Scholarship
    One $1,000 scholarship awarded to the winner and two $250 book scholarships awarded to the runners-up. Undergraduate students must be majoring in a STEM field of study to qualify.
    Deadline Date: August 1

  • Southern California Reproductive Center Scholarship
    Undergraduate student must be planning to specialie in fertility and reproductive health to qualify.  One $2,000 scholarship awarded.
    Deadline Date: August 1

  • Imroving Senior Living Scholarship
    One $1,000 scholarship.  Open to students in any major, although it is ideal for students in any health care major.
    Deadline Date: October 17, annually

  • Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship
    This scholarship for top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor's degrees.
    Deadline Date: October 24

  • Golden Door Scholars
    Recipients receive up to four-year tuition and room and board scholarshps to DACA and TPS students from tuition lock-out states.
    Deadline Date: October 31

  • Knapp Burn Foundation Scholarship
    The Foundation desires to help students with tuition expenses by making funds available through the Knapp Burn Foundation - John Bennet Saviano Educational Grant for $2000 per semester.
    Deadline Date: October 31, May 15, biannually

  • Horatio Alger Association Career and Technical Scholarship
    Receive up to $25,000 for college, to qualify you must have at least a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college. 
    Deadline Date: October 25, will reopen for Fall 2018 on March 15

  • Education Justice Project Scholarship
    EJP offers $500 scholarships for people who have paroled from an adult IDOC facility, paroled from a juvenile IDJJ facility, students who have a family member incarcerated in an IDOC facility, and students who are family members of IDOC staff.

  • Lawn Maintenance Master Scholarship
    Awards two $500 scholarships annually
    Deadline Date: November 15, April 1, biannually

  • Capital Alliance Gives Back Scholarship
    Awards a $1,000 scholarship to be used toward educational expenses in 2018.
    Deadline Date: December 1

  • Laser Golf Range Finder Scholarship
    Are you passionalte about golf? If you love the game and are contributing to its growth, you are welcome to apply for this scholarship. Awards a $1,000 scholarship.

  • GorjessPets Yorkshire Terrier Student Scholarship
    Applicant must currently have a dog or grew up with a dog.  Winner receives a $500 scholarship.
    Deadline Date: December 1, annually

  • Mesothelioma Guide Scholarship 
    Offering two scholarships, one for $3,000 and a runner up for $2,000.  It is intended to award a student who is affected by mesothelioma. 
    Deadline Date: December 1

  • TiNspireApps.com Scholarship
    Do you share an interest in using Texas Instrument calculator technology?  Any are of study qualifies for the scholarship, however, students in Mathematics, Science, Business and Engineering may be particularly interested.

  • Nitro Scholarship
    Open to all legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are applying to or enrolled in an accredited college or university, awards $5,000 scholarships quarterly. Nitro College also lists multiple available scholarships from other donors.

  • VeteranAid.org Veterans Benefits Scholarship
    A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to three students who write the most compelling essay. 
    Deadline Date: December 31, annually

  • Senioradvisor.com: Future of Assisted Living Scholarship
    A $2,000 scholarship awarded to three students who write the most compelling essay.
    Deadline Date: December 31, annually

  • Bikes Reviewed Scholarship
    Scholarship of $1,500 awarded to winning student.  Open to students in any degree field, however, special consideration will be given to students pursing a course in fitness, health, or sports.
    Deadline Date: January 30

  • ErrorCodesPro.com Scholarship
    Winning applicant will recieve $500 towards their cost of education.
    Deadline Date: January 31, June 31, biannually

  • Christian Community Credit Union Scholarship for Success
    Awarding multi-year scholarships of $1,000 per year. This scholarship will reopen February 1, 2018.

  • HyVee Foundation Scholarship
    The scholarship award is payable in a lump sum to be applied to normal college expenses including tuition, room and board, book purchases and rentals, awarding $1,000 to each recipient.
    Deadline Date: February 10, annually

  • Parentinn's Scholarship
    In an effort to increase awareness and prevention of cyberbullying, the Cybrbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship has been created.  You could earn $1250 as an undergraduate or $1250 for high school seniors.
    Deadline Date: February 28, annually

  • IAA Foundation
    Provides college scholarships to Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Farm Bureau members, spouses, or their children who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study. The 2018-2019 Scholarship application period will begin December 1st, 2017. 

  • P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education
    Earn up to $3,000 for tuition.  P.E.O. is a need based grant program providing one-time financial assistance to women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to complete a degree or certification.
