Many organizations outside of Heartland offer additional scholarship opportunities. The availability of these scholarships is subject to change. HCC does not endorse or sponsor these external scholarships.

Illinois Sheriffs' Association College Scholarship
One $500 scholarship will be awarded by McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage.  Deadline Date: March 15, annually

Point Foundation Scholarship
Point Foundation empowers promising lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential. Recipients will receive up to a $3,700 tuition scholarship and access to a variety of support, education, and community resources dedicated to seeing LGBTQ students succeed. Deadline Date: May 1

First Art Gallery Scholarship
wanting to enable Art and Liberal Arts students to further their education, First Art Gallery is offering one $1,000 scholarship. Deadline Date: May 31

Imroving Senior Living Scholarship
One $1,000 scholarship.  Open to students in any major, although it is ideal for students in any health care major.  Deadline Date: October 17, annually
 
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship
This scholarship for top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor's degrees.  Deadline Date: October 24
 
Knapp Burn Foundation Scholarship
The Foundation desires to help students with tuition expenses by making funds available through the Knapp Burn Foundation - John Bennet Saviano Educational Grant for $2000 per semester.  Deadline Date: October 31, May 15, biannually
 
Horatio Alger Association Career and Technical Scholarship
Receive up to $25,000 for college, to qualify you must have at least a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college. Deadline Date: October 25, will reopen for Fall on March 15
 

Education Justice Project Scholarship
EJP offers $500 scholarships for people who have paroled from an adult IDOC facility, paroled from a juvenile IDJJ facility, students who have a family member incarcerated in an IDOC facility, and students who are family members of IDOC staff. Deadline Date: November 1

TiNspireApps.com Scholarship
Do you share an interest in using Texas Instrument calculator technology?  Any are of study qualifies for the scholarship, however, students in Mathematics, Science, Business and Engineering may be particularly interested. Deadline Date: December 15
 
VeteranAid.org Veterans Benefits Scholarship
A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to three students who write the most compelling essay. Deadline Date: December 31, annually

Christian Community Credit Union Scholarship for Success
Awarding multi-year scholarships of $1,000 per year. This scholarship will reopen February 1, 2021.
 

HyVee Foundation Scholarship
The scholarship award is payable in a lump sum to be applied to normal college expenses including tuition, room and board, book purchases and rentals, awarding $1,000 to each recipient. Deadline Date: February 10, annually
 

Parentinn's Scholarship
In an effort to increase awareness and prevention of cyberbullying, the Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship has been created.  You could earn $1250 as an undergraduate or $1250 for high school seniors. Deadline Date: February 28, annually
 

IAA Foundation
Provides college scholarships to Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Farm Bureau members, spouses, or their children who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study.

P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education
Earn up to $3,000 for tuition.  P.E.O. is a need based grant program providing one-time financial assistance to women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to complete a degree or certification. Deadline Date: None

Senior Advice Caregiver Scholarship
Provides a $2,000 scholarship for students who have acted as a caregiver to an adult friend or relative in any capacity. Deadline: July 15

Edison Home Health Care
Provides a $1,000 educational scholarship Deadline: August 31

BSN Education Nursing Scholarships
Scholarship resource for nursing students

The Illinois Community College Faulty Association (ICCFA) Student Scholarship 

Seven $1000 scholarships for full-time students who have completed 30 semester hours with GPA of 3.5 or higher. Deadline: August 1, 2021 

First-Generation College Student Scholarship 

$1,000 scholarship awarded to a student who demonstrates a deep appreciation for what it means to be a first-generation student. Deadline: June 5, 2021  

Community Leadership Scholarship 

$1,000 scholarship awarded to a student that embodies the qualities of leadership and a deep-rooted interest in community involvement and improvement.  Deadline: December 15, 2021 

Community Hero Scholarship 

$5,000 scholarship to a student who has completed 20 hours of community service in 2021Deadline: July 3, 2021 

Veteran Hero Scholarship 

$5,000 scholarship upon a hard-working U.S. college student who is an active-duty service member, a veteran, or a spouse or child of an active duty or retired service member.  Deadline: July 3, 2021 

Rise Up Scholarship for First Generation College Students 

Course Hero is offering a $5,000 scholarship to students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college. Deadline: July 3, 2021  

Kurz Industrial Solutions Wind Energy Scholarship 

(2) $1,000 scholarships available. Deadline: June 15, 2021 

Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority 

The education sorority of Alpha Delta Kappa, Mu Chapter, is offering a $500 scholarship to Education majors who graduated from a high school in Logan or Dewitt County.  Deadline: April 1, 2021 

The Veteran Continuing Education Scholarship 

The winner of this $2,500 scholarship will be a veteran who meets the eligibility criteria and most impresses the scholarship committee with demonstrated academic promise and a profound commitment to the ideals of service that they developed while in the military. Deadline: July 1, 2021 

Illinois Heartland Chapter of the American Businesswomen’s Association 

Illinois Heartland Chapter of the American Businesswomen’s Association (ABWA) is offering a $1000 scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). Eligibility: candidates must be women who are U.S. citizens, have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, will be a college freshman or sophomore in August 2020, and are attending or have been accepted at Heartland Community College.  Eligible women may request access to an application by contacting Alexis Kalish at terablue@live.com. Deadline: May 15, 2021   

GenM Scholarship 

$5,000 USD scholarship. Deadline: March 31, 2021 

AmericanTrucks Scholarship 

2 scholarships for $2,500 each are awarded twice a year (2 scholarships total) to students who are currently enrolled full-time in a secondary vocational school, technical institute, or are high school seniors who are enrolled in one of the aforementioned institutes. Deadlines: June 15, 2021 and October 15, 2021 

Central Illinois AHEC Health Processional Student Training Award 

(10) $500 Health Professional Student Training Awards available. Deadline: June 30, 2021 

Sygma Technology Scholarship 

This $1,000 scholarship program has been created with the purpose of assisting underrepresented students who have an interest in STEM and believe in the merits of using technology and creativity to enhance our everyday lives. Domestic, International, or undocumented student may apply. Deadline: August 15, 2021 

Pritachard Injury Firm Scholarship 

$500 scholarship awarded for winning applicant. Deadline: April 1, 2021 

California Contractors Insurance Services, Inc. Scholarship 

$750 Scholarships for graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students who are interested in pursuing a career as a contractor. Deadline: July 1, 2021 

Soroptimist Live Your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women Scholarship 

$1,000 to $16,000 award. Helping women around the world since 1972. This program provides cash grants to women who are working better their lives through additional schooling and skills training. Deadline for Application: August 1, 2021 

Workplace Rights Law Group Annual Scholarship

(3) $500 scholarships are available. Deadline for Application: August 1, 2021 

AdvancedPoint Capital Scholarship 

$1000 scholarship for undergraduate students that are getting their first step on the ladder. Domestic, international, and undocumented students may apply, and students attending online universities are welcome to apply. Deadline: August 1, 2021 

Chegg Scholarships 

Chegg Scholarships is a completely free scholarship search engine used by over 4 million students nationwide. With over 25K scholarships with personalized filters like GPA, Age available for students in high school, college, grad school & beyond, it’s one of the biggest out there. Deadline: VARIES 

Career Enjoyment 

$1,000 scholarship available to help students enrolled or be enrolled at any accredited university. Deadline: August 1, 2021 

Coleman Furniture Scholarship 

Business and interior design students that will be awarded $1,000 per semester scholarship. Current or future interior design, furniture design, or business majors are eligible to apply. Deadline: May 1, 2021 

Maritime Workers Scholarship 

The Law Firm of Laborde Earles is offering $2,500 scholarship for maritime majors that are studying engineering, mechanics, or other related maritime careers. Deadline: June 15,2021 

Jason Vanclef Scholarship 

offering at $1,000 scholarship for students that are continuing their higher education. Deadline: December 31, 2021 

Huggable Supermom Scholarship 

The Bold.org will be awarding a $2000 scholarship to single mothers that are in the process of getting their undergraduate or graduate degree. Scholarship winners will also receive a year of free high-quality formula from Huggable. Deadline: June 30, 2021 

Uncommon Goods Scholarship 

Uncommon Goods will be awarding $1,000 scholarship for each spring and spring semesters. Applicants must be studying at an accredited school. You may be domestic, international, and undocumented student may apply. Deadline: July 15, 2021 and December 15, 2021 

Fob James Law Firm Scholarship 

This is an essay scholarship contest that would be awarding the winner $1,000 scholarship. The student will explain a personal challenge they experience and how the experience molded them into the person they are. Deadline: December 15, 2021 

Starpoint Law Scholarship 

Starpoint Law is offering a $1000 scholarship. This is to increase the awareness of dangers of texting and driving. Deadline: August 1, 2021 

BrewerLong Future Business Leaders Scholarship  

This is a $1,500 scholarship that will be awarded based on the ability to write a well-crafted essay exploring the topic in a unique and creative way based off the topic of a reflective quote by President, Abraham Lincoln. Deadline: October 1, 2021 

Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship 

This is a scholarship for two students that will receive $1,000 scholarship. This scholarship is in memory of Mary Rohrscheib, the grandmother of Josh Rohrscheib,and was a devoted third and fourth grade teacher. Deadline: July 15, 2021

Nursing Scholarships for Veterans 

Nursing Scholarships for Veterans. If you’re a veteran or family member of a veteran or deceased military member who plans on attending a CNA program or continuing with nursing education. 

Soroptimist International of Bloomington-Normal Scholarship 

Identifying women to apply for the Soroptimist Live your Dream Award. The local cash awards are $1000 for the winner, $750 for 1st runner-up, and $500 for 2nd runner up. Deadline: November 15th 

STEM Scholarship 

This is a $2,500 scholarship for students that is pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, or math. Deadline: December 18, 2021 

Justice Hero Scholarship 

This is a $2,500 scholarship that is for students that are pursuing a degree in related to law. Deadline: December 20, 2021 

CE Shop Annual Scholarship  

The CE shops scholarship will be awarding to one student of $1,000 scholarship. Deadline: July 31, 2021 

Illinois Retired Teachers Foundation Scholarship 

The Illinois Retired Teachers Foundation is offering (6) $1,500 scholarships for aspiring educators entering their junior or senior year of college. Deadline Date: March 7, 2021 

Abbott & Fenner Scholarship 

This scholarship is $1,000 for high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in an accredited post-secondary education program. For more information and application procedures. Deadline Date: June 12, 2021 

Houston Hypnosis Center Execellence in Psychology Scholarship 

This scholarship is for $1,000 for students interested in the field of psychology as either an undergraduate or graduate. Deadline Date: April 15, 2021 

ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship 

This scholarship will award (10) $1,000 college scholarships to students. To be eligible you must be a current high school senior from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin who attend college in Fall 2021.  Deadline Date: April 30, 2021 

Paragon remodeling Scholarship 

This is a $1000 scholarship for college students of all majors. This scholarship is merit-based, requires an essay submission.  Deadline Date: February 28 and July 31
