Green Institute
Ensuring resource stewardship is a formal priority of Heartland Community College.
Established in 2008, The Green Institute supports Heartland Community College's college-wide priorities and goals related to resource stewardship and sustainability. We provide resources and develop and implement environmental sustainability programs and initiatives that respond to the needs and interests of the campus and wider community, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, recycling, local food and water conservation.

Resource Center
The resource center is dedicated to environmental education. It includes publications and online resources and is open to students, faculty, businesses, residents, K-12 schools, higher education institutions and environmental organizations.
Community Education Classes
We offer a variety of classes for students and the community on sustainability.
Career and Employee Training
Degree and Certificate Programs
Earn a degree or certificate in sustainable design, renewable energies technologies or environmental controls.
The Pregracke Center
This dedicated space honors the environmental reclamation work of Heartland alumnus Chad Pregracke.
