Developing IEP and IFSP Goals
While the professionals involved with your child will ultimately be responsible for writing the Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals, you can have an impact on these goals by understanding your child's current level of development and being able to articulate your own goals and desires for your child.
Two resources to help you get started are:
- "Guidelines for Writing Family-Centered Outcomes" (PDF) is an easy to understand document that explains how to write goals and outcomes for an IFSP.
- "Developing Your Child's IEP" is available from the Center for Parent Information and Resources.
- "Writing the IFSP For Your Child" is available from the Center for Parent Information and Resources.
