Welcome to Summer 2021! We will be providing in-person and virtual assistance for students who need help with math (see the Schedule below). This includes help with most math classes, from Pre-algebra (091) to Calculus (161).
Need Help With Math?
We have Math Assistants who can help you with math*. They are available on the Normal campus Monday - Thursday, starting June 1. Come to ICN 1004 (first floor).
(*Please Note: If you need help with Calculus, come on Thursdays from noon - 3 pm or 4 - 7 pm: or use the Zoom option.)
Here is the schedule:
On Campus Help
Mon: noon to 3 pm
Tue: noon to 3 pm
Wed: noon to 3 pm
Thu: 8 am - 10 am; noon to 3 pm; 4 pm - 7 pm
We will also have Math Assistants available virtually (using Zoom). Just fill out this form for an appointment.
To schedule a time to meet with a math assistant using Zoom, at a day/time that works for you, just fill out the Math Tutoring Appointment Form. Please keep in mind that it may take a few hours (possibly up to 24 hours) to set it up. We will try our best to respond in a timely manner.

Opportunity to Re-take Placement Exam
If you are a current MATH 09x student and have passed a course during this term, you have the option to retake the Placement Test to see if you can jump to a higher math course.
To apply to retake the Placement Test, you will need to contact your instructor.

No! The textbook is online. The additional course fee covers your access to ALEKS for the term.
Absolutely! You can work on math anywhere that you have internet access.
- You need to keep in mind that the amount of work is the same whether you take it online or in-class. That is, it will take from 10 – 15 hours a week to successfully complete your course.
- You will need to have a reliable computer to work from home.
